Town of Luseland
The Town of Luseland is located approximately 55 kilometers east of Macklin on Highway 31. Settlers first came to the area in the spring of 1906. It was not until 1908 that great progress was made, when the Luse Land and Development Co. of St. Paul Minnesota commenced operations in the area. The village was eventually adopted the name of the land company on December 10, 1910 and was declared a town on January 1, 1954.
Today, agriculture and the oil and gas industry remain the major sectors in the area. The Alliance Pipeline, which runs from Northern B.C. to Chicago goes through the local golf course.
