Town of EstonThe Town of Eston is located 20 miles east of Kindersley on Highway 7 and 25 miles south on Highway 20. Eston was named for the Yorkshire, England town of that name which was the home of the Hamilton family, early settlers in the area. The rural area surrounding the town had the first governing body in the area. Early discussion at council meetings centered on the need for a railway and several letters were sent to the government requesting such action. In August 1915, the steel finally arrived.
